Apart from our amazing beaches and fantastic golf courses here in the Algarve there are many things to do. A tour of the surrounding area will leave memories of a diverse, rugged landscape and an insight into the lives of the friendly local people. The beautiful Monchique Mountains, the historic town of Lagos steeped in culture, and the breathtaking rock formations of Ponte da Piedade are to name just a few. Towards the west coast, at Sagres and Cape St Vincent, you will be standing at one of the four corners of the world, this being the closest point from Europe to the American continent.Here are some listed to help you enjoy your holiday with us.
Zoomarine is an oceanarium featuring an array of shows throughout the day, including dolphins, sea lions and parrots. A wonderful day for the children and adults alike, it is located near the village of Guia, approx. 60 minutes drive east from the area.
There are several water parks in the Algarve, nearest is “Slide & Splash”. This maze of exhilarating tunnels and slides is located near to the town of Lagoa, approx. 45 minutes drive east of the area.
The Algarve coastline is breathtaking when viewed from the sea. Larger vessels sailing from the Port of Lagos offer or half day trips, often serving a BBQ lunch on board or on a sheltered beach. Another alternative is an unforgettable journey through the dazzling grottoes in a traditional small fishing boat, leaving from Ponte da Piedade in Lagos. Many fishing expeditions are organised from Lagos Marina. Spectators are welcome aboard and lunch on the boat can usually be arranged.
You are spoilt for choice for quality golf courses in our area. The 18 holes, Par 71 golf course at Parque da Floresta is one of Europe’s most spectacular and challenging. Facilities include a PGA approved Golf Academy, driving range, short game practice area and putting greens. Floresta Parque Golfe Club competitions are every Wednesday and Sunday.
